About
Judith (Judy) obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and her law degree from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware. Judy began her legal career working for insurance companies but shortly after, felt a strong desire to enter private practice. Judy started her transition to private practice with a general practice law firm in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. While working at the general practice firm, Judy realized her passion for family law and was offered an associate position at a law firm located in Yardley, Pennsylvania that specialized in family law. Shortly after, Judy entered into a partnership with a prominent family law attorney in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Always focusing on the needs of families, Judy had to take some time off from the practice of law and focus on her own family, particularly on her younger daughter, who experienced medical and learning issues. During this time, Judy was introduced to the field of education law.
Excited to re-enter the legal field, Judy first volunteered for Philadelphia VIP, an organization that assists low income families in Philadelphia obtain legal services. Judy successfully advocated for Philadelphia VIP clients in the areas of divorce, custody, and support.
During Judy’s volunteer work at Philadelphia VIP, as a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Judy attended Philadelphia Bar Association meetings in the area of family law and more specifically, in the area of custody. During a custody committee meeting, Judy was offered the opportunity to handle child welfare cases in Philadelphia. Judy was appointed by the City of Philadelphia to represent children from birth to twenty-one (21), mothers, fathers, and legal guardians in Dependency Court. Judy was in the courtroom throughout each day zealously representing her clients in various types of hearings.
While dependency law was extremely rewarding, Judy was thrilled to have the opportunity to bring together her experience with family law, education law, and dependency law to William Kirby Law.
When Judy is not advocating for her clients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and her dog, Tinsley. Judy enjoys relaxing at the shore and participating in a wide variety of sports.
